Serita Hefferon: I am assuming you have the XBox 360 with the HDMI output, so if your Home Theater only has 1 HDMI connection That means it is an OUTPUT ONLY. You will need to connect either your TV audio outputs or the audio output from the XBox to the Audio inputs on your home theater system, Use Digital if the surround has a digital input or analog(red&white) if not.
Maurice Breuning: Your xbox is component out only so in-order to use hdmi on that you will need a scaler that supports component in from your xbox and hdmi out to your tv. Which is not a cheap splitter.all tv's and receivers have component inputs so it's more reasonable to use the component cable. Which is the most simple and cheaper. The PS3 is hdmi & optic cable supported which is the popular way to go these days...Show more

Nikki Sypult: while home th! eater in a box systems are very limited and you often do run out of connections jacks they are sometimes price very low so can be tempting. Look into buying a used receiver and set of speakers, you will get alot more for you money by way of sound quality and flexibility. Usually a local independent retailer of stereo equipment will deal in used gear and get you setup for less than you would think. If you must go with the HTIB, then try to channel your equipment through the tv and hook the optical and analog audio from the tv back to the HTIB. I have not seen an xbox without an HDMI jack though, is it one of the first models?...Show more
