Stan Conley: no there has never been a president or a leader of a country who was a vegetarian.although there have been many notable people who were vegetarians throughout history most weren't strict vegetarians, some were vegetarians because meat was expensive or from religious reasons (vows of poverty) and they would accept meat in a meal if it was offered to them.
Burt Stoecklin: There have been some stupid answers Slim Pickin's, but yours takes the ignorance cake! So I guess Hindu leaders in India who are vegetarian or at least Ovo-Lacto Vegetarians don't count as country leaders. However, I believe Bill Clinton didn't become vegan, he was only advised to do so by his dietitian which was also mentioned in a book written by his dietitian, but! I could be wrong. However, I know he still eats dairy as there are photos of him doing so.
