Clare Hoard: I'm amazed at how people have answered this. As you are asking what the Pro's are let just say this "all these casino's were not built or sustained by giv! ing money away!" This said I've lived across the street from a casino and it provides a place to meet friends and socialize as my home is small. The casino's now are making it easier to be rewarded for consistant play. For example a friend and I were able to eat a free meal just last night and on most holidays I'm given "COMPS". Also this month I recieve free ten dollars in match play everyday this month. No I don't win all the time but I've learned to have fun and go home when it stops being so. You also don't have to be rich or even well of as in the past. Now as long as you are gambling and acting appropiate casino's let you enjoy yourself....Show more
Judie Kise: In my experience as an advantage player, i have learned to think "long term" not just in my card playing career, but in other aspects of life as well. It helps me to make decisions quickly that other people may have difficulty justifying. One example of this was taking the maximum allowable deductible o! n my insurance policy, over the course of my whole life it wil! l save me money.I have also learned to cope with short term losses, and coping with the mental hardship of those short term losses. Many people would feel like crap for weeks if they lost figures between 5-10k, being as this happens with such a regular occurrence i now view it as a regular event and most importantly i have learned that even financial events of this magnitude cannot kill me, my life has always continued on as normal. Learning to cope with events of this magnitude has made me a happier person overall as now when i say get a traffic ticket or something of a severe negative effect on my life, i know that i will be able to cope with it and carry on unaffected.This is of course not true fro conventional gambling, i have spent a long time learning to play blackjack for the purposes of making money, to the average gambler, losing 5-10k is not good and you shouldn't expect to win it back as i do.Iv met a lot of great people while spending time in casinos...Show mo! re
