Does a corporation have a Buddha nature?

Ulysses Failey: A corporation isn't a living entity, so it can't have a Buddha nature. And, yes, that is not very Buddhist of your friend.

Kaylee Schmittou: no it will be dependent on the CEO..

Randolph Lozoya: Strange....probably not though.

Gladys Worthing: "Wishes bad karma upon them?" I do not think your friend uses the word "karma" in anything like the Eastern sense. In that sense, there is no use in "wishing bad karma" on anybody. Karma simply means "action." It is a recognition that what you do has consequences. What you do today will play a part in making you who you will be tomorrow. What you have done in the past has made you who you are in the present. All the choices that you have made shape and influence your existence. If the people with whom your friend is angry have truly done bad things, then wishing bad karma on them is like wishing the sun to shine tomorrow. If they have not, it is like wishing the moon were made of Godiva's c! hocolate. In any case, wishing evil upon others may be, as you have suggested, bad for the person doing the wishing. Those others have done what they have done, and will receive "the fruits of their labors." I would suggest that your friend let go of the attachment that she has to them. Without knowing the details of the situation, of course, I would not presume to suggest much else.As to your question, no. The individuals in the corporation possess the Buddha-nature, but the corporation would not. Similarly, a corporation would not be able to achieve enlightenment, only the individuals of the corporation. I have never heard of anyone reliable suggesting otherwise....Show more
