Florencio Dingle: Okay first, when your hair is damp, apply a "heat activated" cream or gel (V05 MAKE IT STRAIGHT GEL) works really well. This can b bought at Target, CVS, anywhere really. Then, wait until your hair is 100 % dry, b/c even if it's just a lil damp, if you flat iron wet hair, you'll literally singe it! So, when your hairs good and dry take the straightener, now, since you have thick hair, and low temp, pbbl wouldn't do the job, but avoid high temps. at all possible, a medium temp should suit u well! How long it takes you, is really a personal thing, and when ur done give your hair a spray of any anti frizz hairspray. But if you really find ur struggling to achieve straight hair, ask a stylist about certain products that help....Show more
Becky Mosena: Put it on high since you have thick hair. NOOO never straighten your hair wet!! It'll burn it, trust me, happened to me all the time. How long it takes depends on how fast you do it and how much hair! you have.
Galen Gowers: I have never had hair extensions before but I would like to get them done this summer, but before I do I have a few questions concerning sewn in extensionsa little about me:I am hispanic, my hair is thick, and the extensions will not be a stretch or anything because I have an aunt who can do them for me (she works at a good salon so she should know what she's doing). Also I would be getting real hair extensions, definitely not synthetic. My questions are:1) How long will they last? I heard having thicker hair makes the extensions last a lesser amount of time, is this true?2) Will I be able to go swimming with them in a river or pool? I would probably be wearing my hair in a ponytail or in a bun, does this make a difference from wearing it loose (in water)?3) I've seen there are special brushes for hair with extensions, are there any other precautions I should take?4) Can I get them tightened or moved up when they become loose or low?5) Are ther! e certain precautions or certain shampoos/conditioners I shoul! d use to wash my hair?6) Are there any brands anyone could recommend (of human hair)?I am simply looking for answers to these questions, I'm pretty determined to get the extensions so please do not try to discourage me (I've seen some other questions asked about extensions and the top answer will be someone trying to scare them of getting extensions....Show more
Hwa Waterford: If you have thick hair you should have it on high!!! your hair should not be wet the iron will break an dwill create alot of steam. just run the iron through your hair untill it is the way you want it
Oren Eskelsen: I got a dark Caesar cut I'm am planning to not get my haircut till the end of summer. How do I take care of my hair properly?
Silvia Stclair: you need a simple toner. it is more gentle than color and should give you the look you want
Chris Coggins: You should blow dry your hair straight first. Then, use a hair clip to move the top half of your hair on top of your he! ad. Then, use a brush and a hair straightener toghether, I usually have it set on the middle dial, but use whatever works. If it's not keeping straight, turn up the level. Then spray with hairspray. I have medium thickness, shoulder length hairand it takes me 20 minutes to straighen. Good Luck!
Erin Arron: Use a straightening iron. I'd do on high. Dry hair.
Will Camus: It's not brassy really, but I'd like it to look more natural (blonde).
Freeman Rutkin: im a natural blonde and the one way to always tell a bottleblonde is that there is only one color there, natural blondes have alot of different shades and colors in our hair, so if you want to look natural, though in both high and low lights
Jasper Mangel: I dont know what to say but, long curly hair is cute but you keep moving your hair up so you may see, short hair is cool and also you dont have to flick your current hair up at all
Jasper Mangel: You can straighten your hair anytime, and yo! ur hair has to be dried unless you have wet to straight(Or whatever the! name is) irons....If you want good results and quicker to do it, put it on high, if on low it'll take you forever.
Toshia Metzker: Wait until your hair is completely dry. Then, put it on low, and if it doesn't straighten completely, hold the straightener there for a while. Not too long though. And remember to buy product that can protect your hair from the heat.
Irvin Guiles: your hair should be dry. unless your using the kind of straightner wet to dry. which will dry your hair for you while its straightening it (if you use this kind it cant be extremly wet though). if you have thick hair you should use a higher power unless your just fixing something like your bangs if you even have any.
Rodrigo Pezley: Your hair has to be dry if its wet it could damage your hair. If you have thick hair then you need it on the highest.
Corey Rohleder: *Right you can wash your hair before hand but make sure its completley before you start straightening [unless you h! ave wet to straight hair straighteners]*Next apply some form of heat protection spray to your hair to protect it. You can get this from any good cosmetic store or supermarket, i found Tresemee [cant spell it] was very good. *I have rather thick hair too so i always use it on high just so that its quicker! *If you dont have a light on your starighteners to tell you when they are ready you can usually feel when they start to heat up and when they are hot, you can feel that they are hot with out touching them they you are ready to start!! *To straighten your hair...*I find it a good thing to get a big clip and leave a small part of my hair down and clip the rest up. Starting at the roots close the straighteners on your hair and pull down to the ends. You may need to do this a couple of time till the section looks straight. Then let some more hair down, and straighten that. Do the same untill all your hair is lovely and straight!!! Hope this helps you!!! xxxx...Show more

Noah Deni: 1. A sew in weave when done properly can last from 2-3 months before it needs to be removed.2. Yes you can go swimming with it (assuming it is a quality human hair weave) but the hair will need to be washed and blow dried ASAP. You may also need to use a flat iron or curling iron to make sure the two hair textures match. You can't let the weave air dry because your hair underneath won't dry properly and this can lead to mildew, a funky smelling scalp and hair and even scalp infections.3. You should try not to get your hair wet in between washes and when combing or brushing your hair, be very gentle and work your way from the ends up.4. Yes you can get your braids tightened as needed.5. You can use your normal shampoo and conditioner. I recommend using a deep conditioner at least twice a week.6. Can't help you there. Just Google it and look for reviews.Tips:Give your hair a break in between weaves. Never go from weave to weave. Wait at least a week in between in! stalls.Don't get the braids done too tightly as this can cause breakage. Be sure to maintain your real hair underneath the weave. Keep it detangled, clean and moisturized. Wash your weave and hair every 2-3 days to keep it clean....Show moreBetsey Muehlbach: Brush it every day 5 times a day. You'll get waves and get a line up once a week or every two weeks. I get tapers which is like a line up but better for me. once your hear gets thicker start to pic it with a pic
